Who are the Castaways?
Our crew is a rag-tag group of kayaking enthusiasts who paddle from Miami to Key West to raise money for the American Cancer Society during their annual Relay For Life event. We are very proud of our accomplishments over the years, but it was only possible through the support of our amazing sponsors, friends, and of course, our families!
Since our inaugural voyage, generous people like you have helped us donate more than $350,000 to the ACS. Many of you have donated in the name of a loved one - and those names are on our website and are read aloud at a ceremony in Key West at the end of our trip.
Follow us as we prepare for the 14th Annual Adventure:
our mission
Cancer affects all of us in one way or another. You may have a family member who has battled the disease or a friend or a co-worker. Cancer can not only do physical damage to the body, but can leave permanent scars on its victims and their loved ones. These are the people for whom we paddle.
The mission of the Castaways Against Cancer is two-fold. The goal is to not only find a cure for cancer by raising thousands of dollars each year for the American Cancer Society, but to honor those who have fought the good fight.
It's that simple. We kayak, you donate and we all pray for a cure.
