  • How did you become a Castaway? I was a long time supporter of our Captain, Eric Pino and last year decided to begin participating.

  • Why are you a Castaway? Cancer is something that has affected many of my family members along with myself. In July 2008 my dad was diagnosed with Leukemia and as recent as 2019 I also was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer. In support and joining the Castaways we will fight this fight together and make a difference.

  • What is your "essential gear" to be a good Castaway? Running shoes and bicycle

  • Tell us about your Family: I am married to my lovely wife Olivia Rodriguez and we have two kids, Alberto Daniel Girado and Audrey Grace Girado

  • Personal Fun Fact: Drafted by the White Sox in 2000. Signed with the New York Mets in 2004 (played one-year minor league baseball)

  • How have I helped carry out the CAC mission of funding cancer research and honoring those who have fought the fight? As I continue to meet those affected by this horrible disease it continues to strengthen the drive to raise funds for Cancer research. Each donor, each dollar raised pushes me further in my efforts to do whatever is necessary to support those conducting research.
